Dear Friends and Distinguished Visitors.

This has been a modest effort I put in your hands perhaps you find it both informative and fun. I have tried to compile the results of a trip of many decades including childhood and youth. This life journey is for the most part a product of critical and forward thinking, hard work, giving and taking.

I have tried to make the website very user friendly, I hope my dear visitor that you find it easy to navigate between the different sections and categories.

For you to get to know me a little better I have put together a brief on my biography, and an album of photographs of me with friends, colleagues of the profession and experts from around the world, I have also included photographs of childhood memories and education years.

I have assigned a section for scientific work in the form of Lectures and Interviews, Articles and Books, which I think the public and members of the scientific community will be delighted to take part in and discuss generally or in detail, in a forum where I put forward some of the issues and challenges facing Science, Medicine and the Environment.

Sharing of thoughts and ideas let it be for or against has always contributed to the betterness of mankind, the difference in our opinion not only enriches our life experience, but it is the very thing that makes us human.
Whether a student, a doctor, a professor of medicine or interested and concerned citizens worldwide. I invite you to take part in this forum and raise questions or issues of scientific and medical nature.

In this website I have included an area for the latest Medical and scientific news and archives developed at the time of their occurrence. this makes it easy to go back in time and take a glance at earlier topics and articles. I have made it easy for visitors to contact me for closer cooperative relationships to exchange views and opinions.

Welcome respectable visitors, whether educated and knowledgeable scientist or seeking to learn, if you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to use the contact form and I will be happy to respond to you and even happier when I see you repeat your visit.

Ethical Controversies in Organ Transplantation

Ehtuish Ehtuish – Surgery Department

Tripoli Central Hospital – National Organ Transplantation Program – Libya

1. Introduction

Since the 1st successful kidney transplant in 1954 done between two identical twins [Merrill etal 1958] organ transplantation has become a life-saving procedure for many disease conditions hitherto considered incurable. Clinical organ transplantation has been recognized as one of the most gripping medical advances of the century as it provides a way of giving the gift of life to patients with terminal failure of vital organs, which requires the participation of other fellow human beings and of society by donating organs from deceased or living individuals [Ehtuish etal 2006 & Hariharan etal 2000].
